You’re absolutely right in your strategy and I totally condone it. I wrote another piece on doing it just that way in fact. My point, and I think it holds true in your example too, is that by the time you get to that working product and building the proper platform with the right tech to scale — that spend + the time you and your team spent + the cost to iterate and sell the initial versions + the revenue you generated to get to that point, probably around $250K.
