Yeah, that happens. Could be short-sightedness on their part. But also, you can go too far trying to be all things to all customers and wind up with something that doesn’t resonate with any customer. I don’t know your business, but if that’s the feedback you’re getting, it might be in how you package the offering, especially with investors. Maybe take a step back, package/market the product with a more narrow focus, and pitch investors and accelerators with that. Amazon started with books and CDs. Spiffy started with washing cars. Doesn’t mean you have to hack down your product, but change the packaging, marketing, and messaging to target a more niche market at first. Then expand as you start getting hits and market share.
