Why the Internet Sucks at Helping Entrepreneurs Start a Real Business

The Internet is usually not that helpful when trying to get honest answers, but it’s especially unhelpful when trying to get honest answers about starting or growing a business.
I don’t know why startup advice on the Internet sucks, but I lived it for 20 years, and even now, I still need answers. I’ve started and sold companies, I’ve joined and sold companies, I’ve started companies and failed, multiple times.
And I still need answers.
It’s not that the answers aren’t out there. They are. They’re just locked away in the brains of entrepreneurs who are still building and growing companies — and not building from a color-by-numbers template (you can find plenty of those traps on the Internet as well, search for “Making money on the Internet”), but from a place where we want to make something that solves old problems in new ways.
