Naive is fine, friend. This is about the future, and you have to be somewhat naive to believe. Otherwise you can end up a cynical old bastard doing the same things over and over and expecting a different result.

Good input here, Norberto. Let’s think about it this way: Instead of letting arbitrary dates drive what we build into the product, let’s use data — from the industry, from the market, from customers, from prospective customers, to drive feature set. Then stop, deliver, read more data, build more features.

I’ve delivered too many products with “must-have” features by a certain date and watched them stagnate to not give this strategy a lot of thought. Now that I’m dabbling, I’m already seeing the payoff.
