I Lost a Bunch of Subscribers and I’m Kinda Thrilled

When you hear that you should “fire your worst customers,” this is how you do it

Here goes one more nail in the coffin.

I’m gonna be honest with you. I’m a born pleaser. I try to make everyone around me happy. This is not a genetic trait, and it’s not a natural part of my personality.

My motivation for pleasing people comes down to this: If I’ve learned one thing about leadership, it’s that leadership is mostly about making everyone around you better. For whatever reason, I translate step one of that process into making everyone around me happy. Track record is pretty good, and even when I fail, I’ve at least accomplished something karmic.

Now, what does that have to do with me losing a bunch of subscribers to my newsletter — and what the hell does that have to do with you reading this so you can be more successful with your business?

Great question. Let’s peel this onion.

I Hate Losing Subscribers

When I started writing these posts back in 2019, I had one goal: Take my decades of entrepreneurial leadership and tactical experience and hand out chunks of content that were insightful, actionable, and most importantly, honest.
