Hi there. I'm a multi-exit, multi-failure entrepreneur. I'm the founder of Teaching Startup -- a project to make more and better entrepreneurs by democratizing the way startups get honest advice and real answers.

I've been formally advising growth stage startups and tech companies for about 20 years, and I'm a featured startup, tech, and innovation columnist for Inc. Magazine, TechCrunch, and Built In, among others.

I've founded or been early at 14 startups. Way back in 1999, I founded Intrepid Media, the very first social network for writers, and ran it successfully for 12 years. In 2010, I co-invented the first commercially available Generative AI platform at Automated Insights, which still runs today, and we exited to private equity firm Vista Equity Partners in 2015.

Also in 2010, I founded and ran ExitEvent, an information and resource hub for startups, which was acquired by American Underground/Capitol Broadcasting Corp in 2013. In 2017, I was Chief Product Officer at Spiffy -- mobile vehicle maintenance, and grew product at that company from $2M to $60M in annual revenue. I'm still hands on in tech and entrepreneurship today.
