Hi there. I'm a multi-exit, multi-failure entrepreneur. I'm the founder of Teaching Startup -- a project to make more and better entrepreneurs by democratizing the way startups get affordable help, advice, and answers.
During the day, I'm the Chief Product Officer at GetSpiffy, a VC-backed mobile vehicle care and maintenance startup.
I've been formally advising growth stage startups for about 20 years, and I'm a featured startup and innovation columnist for Inc. Magazine, TechCrunch, and Built In, among others.
I've founded or been early at 13 startups. Way back in 1999, I founded Intrepid Media, one of the very first social networks, and ran it successfully for 12 years.
In 2010, I co-invented and hold the patent for the first commercially available Natural Language Generation platform at Automated Insights, which still runs Yahoo Fantasy Football and Associated Press Quarterly Earnings reports today. Automated exited to private equity firm Vista Equity Partners in 2015.
Also in 2010, I founded and ran ExitEvent, an information and resource hub for startups, which was acquired by American Underground/Capitol Broadcasting Corp in 2013.
My goal is to be honest, actionable, and insightful. If that interests you, please consider signing up for my free email at joeprocopio.com so you don’t miss any new posts. It’s short and to the point.
